Can Anyone Get Paid to Write?

Have you always enjoyed writing? Growing up, did you write short stories or create poetry?
In the 6th grade, I wrote my own little  "newspaper" for the apartment complex we were living in. I even included recipes and puzzles! The manager allowed me to make copies and I distributed them to all the tenants.
I've always had a vivid imagination, and I have always enjoyed creating, whether it was writing short stories, doing sketches, painting, crafting projects with wood, and most recently, through digital design. I've always had what I term as "the artist's eye" for composition, and choosing which item to add to compliment the end result.
There are so many opportunities to create, and a large number of companies who are willing to pay you for your creations. Businesses are in constant need of great content for their social media business pages, new information for their websites, and ideas for marketing and advertising their products and services.
I have researched many of these programs that help new writers find paying jobs, and there are a few that stand out. Upwork, Fiverr, and Freelancer are a few of the sites where you can search for paid writing gigs, everything from writing product descriptions, blog articles, social media content, or even writing resumes. These sites are free to join, and fairly easy to navigate. However, the competition on these sites is fierce, and if you are brand new writer, without an established portfolio of work done for other clients, it can be difficult to land one of these paid jobs. Not impossible, just difficult.
There are a few others that may be more useful for new writers just getting started, and I am leaving the links for those at the bottom. I encourage you to check them out! Best wishes for your successful journey into paid writing!
